What is Verify Ownership for mobile shares?
All mobile shares receive an additional security layer that prevents unauthorized access to the shares that are waiting to be claimed. Part of this security measure is that shareholders need to verify their share ownership. This can be done manually by the shareholder by scanning the QR code or use the link in the email sent to you. The other option is to have the verification done automatically by Inheriti. For information about more security measures: Security of Inheriti.
What are the options for Verify Ownership?
As plan owner you have the option to choose the method for the verification of the ownership of the shares, either manually by the shareholder or managed by Inheriti.
-
SafeKey Mobile User. With this option shareholder must after claiming the share, verify their ownership of the share by scanning a QR code with their SafeKey Mobile app or use the deeplink they received in the notification email. Only after verification of the share, can the share be included in a merging process.
-
Inheriti. With this option Inheriti will manage the ownership verification in the background. This means that the share is verified automatically by Inheriti upon claiming them through SafeKey Mobile, and the shareholder do not need to verify their share manually. The share can be directly included in a merging proces.
How to choose SafeKey Mobile User or Inheriti as Verify Ownership option?
Considerations to take into account:
-
Ensuring the shareholder saves the email containing the QR code and deeplink for an extended period of time can be a cumbersome process.
-
Verifying ownership by Inheriti contains slightly more risk than the SafeKey Mobile User option.
